Reflection by Amy Law

Do not fear, for I have redeemed you: I have called you by name, you are mine.  Isaiah 43: 1-2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you.

I am truly humbled by the nature.  Listening and watching the rivers, I feel closer to our Creator and the water carries spiritual meaning. Calming waters and stormy oceans reflect the seasons in our lives.  I always imagine the fullness under the water’s surface in its boundless depth. Similarly, I have desires to search for God's deeper meanings in my faith journey.

With God's gifts and reasons, we can follow God’s path to fulfill God’s purpose with certainty.

My friend Candy went through a very difficult time years ago. Her husband Phillip had a serious stroke and became paralyzed when they were on vacation. She visited him every day at the rehab and continued to attend Sunday worship. Phillip passed away four years later. During that time, my assignment was to comfort and support her. Through this experience, I learned a different perspective that faith requires persistence, hope takes perseverance and love needs patience.

I believe that God has individual assignment for each of us.  God nurtures us through these assignments and strengthens our faith.

Knowing that God always will be there, should we be afraid to take His assignments?

Prayer: Gracious God, Thank you for being patient with us and give us strength when we hesitate.  In Jesus name. Amen
