High School Youth Group

Sunday evenings - Click here to check the church website calendar for exact dates.
7:00 – 8:30 pm

When one of our dedicated high school youth group members was asked what is most meaningful to her about her time in youth group, she thoughtfully replied:

“Youth group offers me a place to reflect. We are all so busy with school and other demands during the week that we don’t have any time to reflect on what takes place in our lives. Youth group offers us a chance to sit back, relax, and talk about things that matter to us. Our discussions help us to know ourselves better and to understand who we are created and called to be. Our time in youth group is so different from anything else we do each week.”

This young woman is not alone. In fact, she shares one of the most common sentiments expressed when participants describe their experience of high school youth group at Village Church:

“Coming to youth group on Sunday night helps me get through the rest of the week.”

For many high school students, youth group offers a restful, accepting, and fun environment to explore their thoughts, feelings, and ideas about issues that matter to them. During this time together, we practice and experience living in Christian community as we offer each other our attention and our honest ideas and responses, while challenging each other to be the best we can be. Our time together provides a rich and transformative exchange.

The relationships that begin in youth group on Sunday evenings have a chance to deepen and develop during our two weekend retreats, one in the fall and one in the winter, and during our weeklong service project that takes place during the public school break in April.
