The Village Church Youth Program is a welcoming community. Whether you grew up in the church, or are new to the area, or just heard about youth group from a friend, everyone is welcome.
The emphasis of our youth program is on exploring and experiencing what it means to live in a Christian community. Each year, we craft and follow a covenant, ask for and offer each other forgiveness, seek authenticity, share appreciations, bless each other, and work to be a blessing in our world.
People who come to youth group are happy to find a place where God’s love is evident, a place where they can rest and gather themselves. In youth group, the social barriers of school begin to fall away as we explore who we are, engage with the world around us, and develop our lives of faith in a safe and accepting environment. A passion to help others is stirred while we worship with adults with developmental disabilities, while we grow vegetables in the Village Church Gardens for the Wellesley Food Pantry, while we take part in Family Promise (a ministry that welcomes homeless families to our church for a week at a time), and while we care for each other. It is no wonder that some of the most meaningful relationships our youth experience happen at youth group.
Our youth program operates under the guidance of Associate Pastor Pam Emslie and a group of dedicated adult and youth advisors. The program is made up of four youth groups: 6th Grade Youth Group, 7-8th Grade Youth Group, Confirmation (Grade 9), and High School Youth Group (Grades 10-12). There are also other opportunities outside of youth group for youth to be involved in our church and the wider community.
Please check our youth group calendar and join us for our upcoming gatherings and events.
