Home – Our Church Home

It is hard to think of another word that has as many deep resonances. Whether we are responding to the presence or absence of something called home, the word itself seems to echo in the deeper recesses of our hearts. And when people speak of Village Church as their "spiritual home," it is more than a figure of speech - because at its best, a home is a place where you are nurtured and given an opportunity to grow, where you are equipped to serve the world more fully.  As we enter into this Stewardship season, we are asked to consider how our giving reflects our relationship to our God, and to this, our spiritual home.  Is there room to grow?

This beloved church is worthy of our generous support.  But even more than this, our pledges are an offering to the God who is our home, the one who has been our dwelling place in all generations.

A Stewardship Poem

By Marjorie Scoboria, Age 104

How much is your church worth to you?
A dime? A nickel? A dollar or two?
We've ministers, teachers, and aids of all kinds
Who cater to our receptive minds.
There's also the building we all share
Which gets such competent, tender care.
Let's show, with the rest of the congregation,
Our very sincere appreciation
For all we receive from our competent crew
Who are working in so many ways for you
And pledge your yearly contribution
To this deserving institution.
