What To Expect

We’re so glad you’re considering paying a visit to Village Church!

We know it can be a challenge to enter a new community, but we hope you’ll find a friendly welcome and comfortable atmosphere when you join us. Village Church is a congregation full of singles and families, elders and young ones, dyed-in-the-wool churchgoers and folks who are new to faith and to the church—all coming together to encounter the Living God and be transformed.

We hope this page will answer some of your questions, but we believe that the best way to get to know us is, well, to get to know us. Introduce yourself to an usher, a welcomer, a pastor, or the person sitting behind you, and ask them to tell you what they love about Village Church. We look forward to getting to know you.

Village Church has two Sunday morning worship services: First Worship at 9:00 and Second Worship at 10:00. Each one has its own flavor, but at both services, you will find joyful singing, thoughtful preaching, spirit-filled praying, reflective silence, and a loving community that is glad to be there.

We celebrate communion every Sunday at First Worship and on the first Sunday of the month at Second Worship. In the spirit of Jesus’ extravagant welcome, our communion table is open to everyone—young and old, gay and straight, educated and less educated, rich and poor, believers and doubters, sinners and saints.

Getting Here

Village Church is located at 2 Central Street in Wellesley Square, at the intersection of Central, Grove, and Washington Streets. Parking is free on Sundays in nearby lots and on adjacent streets. Visit the Directions and Parking page for more details.

Families, Children, and Youth

We welcome people of all ages and families of all kinds at Village Church. Children are welcome to worship with their parents; child care is also available during both worship services. We also offer a rich Church School program for infants through eighth graders, and exciting youth programs for middle and high school students. Please visit the Families, Children, and Youth page to learn more.

What Do I Wear?

Some people come to Village Church decked out in their Sunday best, while others dress more casually. We believe that what happens in our spirits when we worship is way more important than what we’re wearing, so please come in whatever feels right to you. However you come, we will be glad you’re here!

Village Church is accessible to all, regardless of physical ability. We also offer large-print bulletins and assistive listening devices. Please visit our Accessibility page to learn more.

Learning More

We encourage you to say hello to the people around you at worship or fellowship hour and ask them any questions you might have. If you visit the Welcome Table at fellowship hour, you will find an array of information about church programs and a couple of members who are ready and waiting to meet you. Our pastors would also love to get to know you, so please introduce yourself to them as well.

If you have a question that is not answered here, please call the church at 781.235.1988 and we will be glad to speak with you.
