5th Annual Feeding Frenzy - Huge Success!
Thanks all who helped out on Sunday. Service Ministry Deacons provided treats, accepted donations, helped to unload vans, set up tables, worked on the assembly lines, carried/loaded boxes (each 33 lbs!), delivered boxes to pantries, and helped to clean up afterward. It was so great to see so many people pitching in--- especially fun to see lots of high school students, families, younger and older members of the Village Church, and people from the Hills Church and the Weston Congregational Church as well as 2 people from an Episcopal church in Duxbury (who are hoping to start this at their church).
Special thanks to Lisa Weinstock and her husband Peter, who helped Matthew bring in equipment and set things up on Saturday and were there from 8 until 2 on Sunday working tirelessly!
The spaces worked out beautifully, and Sarah was thrilled to have the new chapel's first use be for the Feeding Frenzy.
It was a very successful day, as you can see from Matthew's message below. We packaged 36,000 meals and only stopped when we ran out of ingredients! 166 boxes (each containing 36 bags/216 meals) have been either delivered or picked up. Hooray!
Gratefully,
Katy Reid

WVC collected $5,000 and packaged all 36,000 meals! Only 17 groups in all of New England have ever fed more:
