Big Tent Online Bible Study
Excellent Christian Leaders i know, greetings from Austin, TX!
You have a VERY hard job! It was already hard before the 2016 election, and then it got harder. And that was before Covid 19. Now it’s really, really hard! Talk about adaptive work!!! (I’m lookin’ at you, Tod Bolsinger!) First, I’m praying for each of you. Second, I may be useful to you and yours.
Since the beginning of this pandemic, I’ve been racking my feeble brain for some way to support the pastors I love and help your people while we’re all grounded and separated, and I may have stumbled on something.
Worship streams are flowing. Bravo to you all (especially in smaller or less etched up churches) for making worship available to your people on Sundays. It’s been fun to sample your worship wares!
I imagine, though, that most of your local church Bible studies have gone out of biz for this stretch of time, because they’re harder to stream.I’ve been doing socially-distanced Bible studies online for a couple years now through Zoom, and I’m currently at the 2/3 mark of a Monday evening study that I call Big Tent Bible. We’ve just finished the Gospel of John, so Acts through Revelation await weekly treatment on Monday eves into mid-June.
I want to contribute the remainder of the study to y'all and your congregations cost-free. (It’s usually a subscription kind of thing.) Here’s what they’ll need:
- Time: Mondays at 8 Eastern, 7 Central, 6 Mountain, and 5 Pacific + AZ. (Mar 23 — June 22)
- Access: to join the Zoom mtg, have them click https://zoom.us/j/8735409715.
- Resources: https://www.pinnaclepres.org/big-tent-bible-media features the podcasts, which they can hear at their leisure, and past prep guides.
- Weekly Prep Guides: Have them drop me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I’ll put them on the weekly distribution list.
Who knows how long this season of separation will last, brothers and sisters, (Lord have mercy!) but your people will be welcome any time and for as long as they wish.
Let me know if you need more info. I love following your splendid work from my living room, and I look forward to the next time I see you in person. Meantime...
