Help Neighbors in Need and Connect Virtually With Us and Each Other!

Village Church is following the guidelines of the CDC and WHO, practicing "physical" social distancing. While our building will remain closed, our hearts shall stay wide open, as we seek new ways to connect and care for each other.

Online Worship

Join us online Sunday morning at 10 am, with YouTube or Facebook, as we gather together virtually to lift our voices in songs, offer our prayers, and praise our God. And click here for the bulletin, so you can follow along.

Neighbors in Need and Neighbors Ready to Help

Laurie Roberts has graciously volunteered to coordinate the effort to provide a web of care for those in need in our beloved congregation.

  • During this time of COVID-19 risk, if you are not leaving your house and you need food, medicine, or other household items dropped off, please let us know. If you are feeling lonely, and would like a friendly voice to connect with, please let us know. Simply send an email to Laurie at care@wellesleyvillagechurch.org with your need.

  • Are you able to run errands or offer your friendly voice over the phone to folks who are staying at home? Please send an email to Laurie at care@wellesleyvillagechurch.org.

We will walk these paths together. It takes a Village!

Stewardship Message

Check out this message below from Gary Gillis, Chair of the Stewarship Team, and please continue to faithfully give online.

Dear Village Church Friends

I miss our time together! That said, I also know that we are doing what is wise and best for everyone in our congregation and our communities.

How are you feeling? Anxious, frustrated and a little overwhelmed are common replies when I’ve asked my family and friends and I’ve felt that way as well. There is no “right” way to feel in the midst of uncertainty. Let’s trust in God and each other, reach out when we need help or reassurance and follow the best medical advice.

To that end I am washing my hands frequently. Did you know that singing the Doxology while doing so is a good way to ensure you’ve reached the recommended :20 second mark? (singing to yourself is also encouraged if you have a voice like mine) If you are fortunate enough to own a dog you’ve likely discovered that one leash length is a good way to estimate appropriate social distancing!

Many of us now have children home from school and college while at the same time we are adjusting to working from home. Our lives and the life of Village Church will be disrupted for an unknown period of time but our work does go on. Technology allows us to worship together while physically separated. Pastoral care is available though perhaps not face-to-face in every instance. Our outreach partners continue to provide care and services. All of this is made possible by your faithfulness and generosity.

On behalf of the Stewardship Committee, thank you! If you do not do so already, please consider using the online giving options through the website or dropping your pledge check in the mail as we deal with the new normal and the absence of old routines. Until the time when we again sit side-by-side.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow……”

Faithfully,

Gary Gillis
