Since the decision to renovate Burtt Chapel and modify Village Common and the kitchen, the Chapel Committee has worked hard to finalize construction drawings and work specifications. We are now in the process of soliciting bids from several construction companies, evaluating them and selecting a partner. Our goal is to begin work next spring and finish by the end of the summer of 2019.
An interesting note from our history uncovered by Brad Harding; on June 10, 2018, the congregation met to authorize the renovation of Burtt Chapel. Church archives tell us that it was June 18, 1918 —almost exactly 100 years ago—when the congregation met to execute contracts to build the new chapel and parish house, completed in 1919!
