Village Table ~ A Community Food Program
“I was hungry, and you fed me.” – Matthew 25:35
Can it be a coincidence that at a time when a record number of Americans – including our neighbors – are unemployed and food-insecure, we have an enormous kitchen in our church?
Can it be a coincidence that this kitchen is already inspected and approved for the mass production of meals … with multiple ovens, an industrial freezer, and restaurant-grade cleaning facilities?
Can it be a coincidence that our own Gary Arthur is a professionally-trained chef who has run huge food operations for organizations like Stanford and MIT, and vendors like Sodexho and Aramark?
Sometimes, all the pieces just fit together. That’s when we know we’re on to something great.

Why a feeding program?
In response to the demand created by the effects of Covid 19 and the ongoing large numbers of individuals and families suffering from food insecurity, Wellesley Village Church has decided to respond with a program targeted at hunger relief. This program will start small within current church needs and expand out to other Metro West communities over the next few months.
Volunteer functions will include Administrative Duties, Grant Writing, Foraging-Shopping-and Food Sourcing, Herb Garden Maintenance, Health and Safety Management, Cooking and Cleaning, Packaging and Distribution, Marketing and Communications, Community Ambassadors, and more. NO experience is necessary. All training, PPEs, and hands on direction, will be provided.
