Eric joins Village Church as a Pastoral Resident. After growing up in rural Wisconsin where the cows outnumbered the people, Eric moved to Madison, Wisconsin where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with an emphasis on Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. While there, he also served as a Fellow with the Lubar Institute, which focused on enhancing interfaith literacy and cooperation on campus.
Prior to receiving a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, Eric worked for a UCC and ecumenical campus ministry where he coordinated Bible studies and service projects, collaborated with Jewish and Muslim organizations to plan interfaith events, preached, directed music, and organized and led international experiential learning trips for UW-Madison students to Israel-Palestine and Nepal. Eric also has experience in chaplaincy, having served for two years at First Church in Cambridge UCC Men’s Shelter in Harvard Square as well as UnityPoint Health—Meriter hospital in Madison where he served in the maternity and birthing units, the adult psychiatry unit, and the general medical unit.
Eric is a coffee aficionado (or snob, depending on who you ask!) and, in his free time, loves to read, play the guitar, write music, travel, and spend time with his family in Wisconsin—especially his 11 nieces and nephews!
